Is Success Based on Luck, Hard Work, or Both?

1 min readMay 19, 2025

Italian scientists from the University of Catania created a computer model of 1,000 individuals, observed their progress over 40 years, and concluded that the wealthiest and most successful were not the smartest — but the luckiest.

Kabbalah teaches that we each have our destinies pre-written, and that in order to control our destiny, we need to rise above fate and discover the force that governs us.

Kabbalah calls predetermined destiny “the path of suffering.” If we follow it blindly, then it carries us, and we experience whatever life throws at us. But if we rise above this predetermined fate, we can take control of our own fate.

Everything that happens to us still unfolds according to the laws of nature. But when we understand these laws, when we connect ourselves to them, we gain control. We direct our destiny by working with it, consciously, knowingly, and harmoniously.
