Tehillim,” referring to the Psalms of David, was recently ranked as one of the top 5 searched words on the Internet in Israel. Indeed, when people feel anxious and bad in general, they often turn to the Psalms of David. It is why he wrote them. That is, such is the language and form by which we can turn to the Creator.

It is important to see how the point from which King David wrote the Psalms exists partially in every person. After all, King David represents one who is closest to the Creator.

It is also important to understand that the Psalms are not only relevant to the Jewish people, but to humanity. That is, King David is universal to the whole world. It is the reason why King David’s Psalms are very popular and that all the world’s leading religions relate to them — because every person contains a part of King David within themselves.

Reading the Psalms does more than just help people psychologically. It provides real help, strength and protection from above.

King David was strongly connected with the Creator, with the upper world of love and bestowal. He was a king, which means that he paved such a connection to the Creator. His Psalms are thus of utmost importance.

Moreover, in relation to King David writing the Psalms, the act of his writing, i.e., the descriptions of what he felt in his connection with the Creator, is an act of pouring himself out onto paper. When we reach such states, it is not only recommended to write down one’s sensations, but it will work out that way on its own. That is, the connection of the person with their writing will not disappear, and we will simply reach out for a pen and paper, or even a knife and a stone if it is all that is available, in order to somewhat express our newfound elated states of connection with the upper force of love and bestowal that sources all life, the Creator.
