What Are Some Good Examples of the Power of Love?
Major Or Maatuk, a commander in the IDF’s Givati Brigade, was mortally wounded in Gaza by an anti-tank missile, and he proceeded to be sedated and ventilated. Over four days, the doctors tried to wake him up, but to no avail.
His wife recorded their little daughter, Yael, saying that she loves him and waits for him to wake up, and played it next to his ear. The doctors were amazed to see how he woke up when he heard his daughter’s voice. Later, his arms and legs started to move and he explained that the doctors had to grab hold of him so that he would not tear the tubes that he was connected to.
It is a display of the inner connection that exists between a father and his daughter, and how the father heard his daughter’s voice from within.
It is beyond nature. He absorbed it throughout his entire body and the forces of love and connection existing between him and his daughter vitalized him.
There is no greater force than love. It is the power that enlivens the world.
In and of itself, love is the force of nature. There is no greater force that exists in reality. If we, the people of Israel, were to connect even a little bit more, trying to envelop ourselves in love, then we would save ourselves from all harm.
