I do not think that we, the people of Israel, have a problem with Iran. I think that we have a problem only with ourselves. The problem is that we do not know our destiny and our purpose for being here.

The role of the people of Israel is to unite above our differences and to spread the method and an example of unity to the world at large.

The role of the people of Israel is to unite above our differences and to spread the method and an example of unity to the world at large.

The method for doing so is, as it is written, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” that we reach such relations among each other, and then also with other nations.

The tragic events of October 7, 2023 awakened a more unified spirit among the people of Israel. From around the country, many people became more supportive, mindful and helpful of one another. Unfortunately, however, coming together in the face of a major blow is not the foundation of unity that the people of Israel needs.

The foundation of unity that the people of Israel needs is for a spirit of mutual love, support and encouragement to become a daily reality, not just one that emerges following crises. Leading up to October 7, the people of Israel had been torn by animosity and divisions all year long. It is impossible for us to live with such hatred among us.

Today, we face hope for a state where we will understand that our existence depends solely on our unity. It does not depend on those who threaten us or on any other nation or faction in the world, but only on our unity above our own divisive drives.

In response to Iran’s threats and plans to weaken Israel, we should strengthen our unity — to discuss it more, and to reach a common understanding that our sole hope rests in our unity, which we need to accordingly keep increasing.
