We, as a human society in general, need care, work, and connection-enriching education that lets us understand the egoistic tendency constantly operating on us, how it causes the myriad problems, stresses, hatred, and abuse that abound in the world, and to learn how to rise above this nature.

Before anyone becomes a caregiver, they need such nurturing, and this is not being done. Therefore, I do not blame caregivers nor people who exhibit various sadistic or abusive tendencies, because they do not work on these tendencies, nor does society provide them with the educational, supportive, and encouraging environment that lets them gain awareness of the root of their negative tendencies and work with them.

The more human egoism grows, the weaker the restraining factors on our inner impulses become. We continue trying to raise people through outdated methods to approach today’s overblown egoism, and the result is that we find more and more outbreaks of negative phenomena such as child abuse. Fear of punishment, for instance, has become an increasingly weak incentive to hold back abusive tendencies.

What needs to arise is a social environment where its members direct themselves at positively connecting with one another, providing examples of support, encouragement, and care precisely in opposition to the overblown egoistic desires within each person. With growing awareness of how by blindly following our inner impulses, we bring about no positive outcome neither for ourselves nor for others, then we can learn to enjoy acting out a positive connection to each other throughout society, like an emulation of a perfect world.

Then, over time, the more we emulate a positively-connected social atmosphere, the more it will grow into a new second nature in which a much greater form of fulfillment, enjoyment, meaning, and happiness will fill our lives. In such a state, we will correct at their root those tendencies that bring about negative phenomena like child abuse, as well as other tendencies that bring about suffering in many ways. Until we reach this comprehensive solution, there can be many kinds of suggestions and actions, but they will act as Band-Aid solutions while the core problem will continue to develop.
