It is because our love in this world is based on our egoistic desire to enjoy at the expense of others. We thus wish to be fulfilled by the object of our so-called love, and what might be a pleasant fulfillment in the beginning draws out to become the opposite. That is why an initial feeling of love turns into hatred over time.
In order for the feeling of true, unconditional, and absolute love to manifest in us, we need to rise above ourselves, our egoistic nature, so that no matter how others treat us, we will treat them equally well. Then absolute love is possible.
